My characters exist in a canon including many other wols, both of my own and of friends. Sometimes canon is adjusted to allow multiple wols to be involved (ShB's beginning, for example) and sometimes events that can't leave that room or overlap simply aren't questioned (shipping with the same npcs). The only rule I care about is rule of cool.

Born to a small tribe in the Black Shroud, Rhemi has always stood out from others. A runt with bright red fur and rounded ears opened her up for much disrespect from local gridanians. Add her own insecurities from her family and you have a miqote quick to anger and eager to prove herself.At 25, she began having strange dreams and her mother directed her to Mother Miounne, who also didn't have answers. But she did advise Rhemi stay and join and adventuring guild to see if others may know what ailed her. Eventually, she would find herself labeled as one of Hydaelyn's chosen. Rhemi put everything into this role, wanting to prove herself worthy of it.Rhemi's journey has included many ups and downs, but she is quite happy with where she ended up.Now if only people stopped making every little tiff her problem-

  • Has been a Bard all her life. She became a Scholar in HW after the ending of ARR and even went so far as to get a torso tattoo to enhance her magic. In ShB, she learned about being a Gunbreaker from Roy.

  • Rhemi got a lot of her looks from her father, who she did not know was not shared between her sisters until much later in life. She inherited his red fur, the allagan eye, his rounded ears and his tufted tail.

  • Due to taking in more light than she could handle in ShB, Rhemi's physical body started to break apart and mutate. The end result afterwards is scars all over her body, a golden eye replacing her brown one, and cat-like feet.

  • Rhemi was, and technically still is, 4'11". But with her new, longer feet, she stands at 5'2". She's very pleased with this development.

  • Koharu has been Rhemi's only substantial relationship. They began dating after HW, Rhemi proposed at the end of ShB, and they got married before the start of EW.

Growing up in the Azim Steppe as a Raen was strange. Haruki could find few that looked like him. But that didn't matter when he had his brother beside him. The pair were unseparable through childhood and when they began hearing a strange voice in their dreams, they travelled together to find answers.Once Haruki and Hibiki came to Limsa, Haruki found himself struggling. His brother took to everything with such ease while he was left sticking to what he knew. But he didn't let it show, lest he lose his sunny brand. The pair followed their Echo to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and lended their aid.Like the other Scions, the brothers were betrayed and exiled to Ishgard. He found love here, though he was hesitant to say it.And then it was too late.Though he recovered from this loss, having his brother whisked off to the First without him would be just as devastating. He followed, as he always did, but then Hibiki chose to stay there as the new Fae King. And it was time to say goodbye.To say Haruki is used to loss would be an understatement. But still, he smiles.   • Haruki made his feelings for Zero known once he started recognizing them (as he wouldn't make the mistake of being too late like he was with Haurchefant ever again), but never pushed for anything as she was still making efforts to fully understand mortal concepts like that. In the end, she had to go, but reaffirmed that the feelings were mutual before she left. It didn't quite make her exit sting any less.

Rainaire has always excelled in magic. As a child, named Elov, it came very naturally when watching other mages in his village. These mages he watched were not combatants and hunters, but healers eager to train Elov to follow them. This bothered Elov as he would rather use his powers to assist in hunting and defending. The idea of waiting for a problem to occur so he could fix it rather than avoiding the problem in the first place was frustrating.This frustration was noticed by Sadr rem Albeleo. The Pilus was on a trip to Tural relating to ceruleum when he came across Elov arguing with a hunter. The teenager was easy prey for someone who could make the promises Elov wanted to hear. The viera thought this, leaving home with Sadr to be trained, was the wholly logical path for his desires. He would not hear any arguments from family as they decided he was old enough to do as he pleased.Sadr took Elov (who took the new and very Elezen name of Rainaire Valeroyant) back with him to Dalmasca and isolated him from all he knew with promises of strength. no matter how harsh the regiment. He wanted to be an expert and was given expert tasks. This made sense. What Rainaire didn't know is that he was also being separated from those students who were less compliant, the ones being tortured for the sake of Sadr's experiments.At one point, Sadr miscalulated how successfully he had groomed Rainaire and allowed the young man to see a test subject. In agony and begging for death, Rainaire was stunned. He asked about the sense in this result (there was nothing logical about working men to death), but was smart enough to back off at the first reprimand for questions. Rainaire continued as the loyal assistant for the time, but was now an ugly pit in his stomach roiling at the thought of the brutal torture he'd never known happening right below his feet for so many years.Rainaire took his first opportunity to escape. Luckily he could do so easily with the trust he had garnered. He escaped Dalmascus entirely and hopped on a boat that took him to Old Sharlayan. There he was reunited with his brother, currently learning at the studium, and Erenville was able to assist him in his own acceptance.Rainaire put everything behind him at that point. All he seemed to care about were his studies going forward, to the point he became an Archon for his expertise in Arcane Arts. After his graduation, he declined the path of a Gleaner in old Sharlayan to instead become a senior advisor of the Thaumaturge's guild in Ul'dah.Rainaire would remain there until he began hearing a strange voice in his head, and soon after was transported into a new world known as the First.

  • Rainaire was not a Scion nor a Warrior of Light until ShB. He had interactions with Ionia and Y'shtola before that point and, after being dragged into the first and finding he had the Echo, joined properly on their insistence.

  • Rainaire's new name fits in with the common trend of Viera choosing a city name once they leave their home forest. He picked it out of names in a book provided by Sadr, explaining the Elezen lean. While he did not pick it for Sadr, it would be a fib to say his approval of the name did not influence Rainaire's decision.

  • Rainaire has incredible difficulty communicating with others. He comes off as rude and tactless because he values straightfoward speech, but it makes others think of him as an asshole. He has simply accepted this must be true to others, as no one will listen when he tries to defend himself, and continues on with more confidence nowadays. They already know what they're getting into talking to him, after all.

  • The tattoo on his back was enscribed by Sadr himself. It was a painful experience as a teenager, but he sat through it because it was supposed to make him stronger. Once he left, he added more tattoos to continue enhancing his magic skills on his own.

  • His back tattoo matches Kora'sae's.

  • Rainaire never did much about Sadr after escaping, moreso because he could not. He did tell the people at the Studium about Sadr's experiments, but with no physical proof of a man's crimes outside of the country, nothing could be done.

  • Magnai realized his feelings for Rainaire after some advice from Ionia during EW. Instead of waiting for the moon to appear, he found it in Rainaire's eyes. In more concrete terms, he admires Rainaire's strength, focus, and dedication deeply and believes that he is the type of person that would care for his tribe just as well. He also just thinks Rainaire is very pretty.

  • Rainaire and Magnai are in a relationship of sorts at the end of EW. Magnai is certain of his feelings while Rainaire is still processing what he wants and what he can give. He is solidly overthinking it.

Polyphonte's life before Lapis Manalis is a mystery even to her. She only remembers as far back as being summonedto aid the first Garlean Reapers training in the mountains. She would consider herself a very good Avatar, even if she had tendency to tease and pry at those contracted to her. But not many liked her finicky nature in the training grounds and she would not stay contracted to a soul for long.Like other voidsent, Polyphonte would be encouraged to possess Galatea Parva to further train the Reapers. Polyphonte was an annoyance to fight - her whims in the moment either had her taking the fight with zero sincerity or pulling cheap tricks that did not actually challenge the Reapers. Her only saving grace was the occasional chance she got to battle in a non-practice setting, she did exactly as she was told to allow herself and her partner to succeed. And yet, this pro did not outweigh the cons.When Lapis Manalis was abandoned, Polyphonte was left behind with it. Without her first Reaper breaking contract and no Reaper around to make a new one, she could only sit there. Alone in a void.At some point, Haruki and his Scions came along. They made easy work of the Magna and Polyphonte jumped at the opportunity for escape. She made a deal with him - if he got her a body, she would guide and assist them through the rest of the dungeon. Haruki wouldn't say no to an extra hand, so he did as asked. To Zero's surprise, Polyphonte didn't immeditately betray the group.Haruki considered her a reliable ally and afterwards asked Polyphonte if she would like a more formal deal, given he'd been interested in learning more about the art of Reaping. Polyphonte had nowhere else to go, and the power was a bonus, so a proper contract was struck. And she even got to keep her own body.

  • Polyphonte comes with the personal headcanon that Reaper Job Stones serve as the contract between a voidsent and a Reaper that allows them to both work together and not kill each other.

  • Polyphonte has been around for at least 50 years. She is unsure when Lapis Manalis was abandoned by the Garleans.

  • The other Galatea that remained were not exactly the best company. Most who could walk out, did, and the prime Galatea Magna kept dedicated to her duty in protecting the training grounds. None assisted her in getting access to any remaining body.

  • Poly does not always posess the body - she can reside in the jobstone just as easily, and sometimes does so if her body would make things complicated. If Haruki invokes their contract this way, she becomes the Avatar Scythe he wields.

  • Polyphonte always wanted to be a Galatea Magna, but officials wouldn't allow it. So she took one herself once Haruki appeared.

  • Polyphonte works better with Haruki than she ever has with other Reapers because he both understands her humor and is much more patient with her.

  • Poly's body is nothing more than a mannequin. She has no need for bodily functions like eating or sleeping and is unaffected by temperature, but the voidsent within likes to indulge in such things. Food is eaten, but through magical means.

  • She is, however, genuinely affected by pain to her body. It's why she won't let anyone address the crack in her cheek - it hurts to touch already.

  • Poly, when outside of the crimscion headquarters, wears clothing that covers her joints and passes herself off as a Xaela. And since Haruki views her as something of a little sister, he introduces her that way.

  • A number of her clothes are stolen from Haruki.
